Voice your concerns
Your comments are important to our legislators.
Let them know how vital libraries are and urge them to keep library funding safe.
What should you say?
Here are some sample e-mail and phone statements:
- Libraries are already suffering from reduced funding. I am opposed to the Governor’s proposed cut.
- Libraries are not a luxury - they are ESSENTIAL!
- When the economy is down, library use goes up.
- Families use libraries for entertainment without spending money from their shrinking budgets.
- Job seekers use library resources, including Internet access, to look for work and apply for jobs.
- Now, more than ever, in this difficult economy, the community cannot - and must not - go without a strong library system.
- Libraries are important to me and my family.
- My children love to read and to attend library programs about books, authors and reading.
- Remember seniors. They receive many services from the Library including delivery of books to their homes.
